Family & Friends,

January 15th will be the launch date for almost all of the 6 new Fellowship Groups at Poquoson Baptist (1 will launch January 22nd). I remember as a child watching the launch of the Apollo 11 space craft that had as it's mission to be the first manned space craft to land on the moon. As awesome and beautiful as the launch itself was, it was the events that took place after the launch that produced benefits that exist in our lives even today. Likewise, as excited as we are to see this new chapter in the life of P.B.C. begin, our trust is not in the efforts of the many who have labored tirelessly over the last 9-12 months to make launch a reality, but in the transformative work of God in the lives of the almost 100 family members who seek to cultivate a deeper relationship with Christ and each other in the weeks and months to come. How beautiful it is to see so many respond and seek a deeper connection with each other and the King of kings we serve. This first set of "missions" will last 10 weeks - ending March 25th. After  a month respite (April) the next set will launch in early May 2020. Perhaps this first round of missions you have not been able to participate in for various reasons, but the missions will reset and continue in May 2020 so we hope even more of our family will come aboard and experience what it means to cultivate community.

Whether or not you are part of these first Fellowship Groups at P.B.C. may we all unite in prayer this year and beyond seeking God's direction and wisdom as we move forward together for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the video below, Pastor Hopson helps us prepare for this sunday at Poquoson Baptist Church where we find out what we really need to Cultivate Community at P.B.C.  The words of the writer of Hebrews come to mind as we begin this new step together:

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
