By now most of you are familiar with a PBC Members Meeting, but what is a Town Hall Meeting?
In 17th century New England, town hall meetings were an important gathering for citizens to discuss the life and health of the town. The meetings weren't about making decisions, but having discussions with civic leaders. The goal was to encourage greater understanding and involvement in the life of the community.
The elders believe that this type of meeting would be helpful for PBC. From Covid-19 to the installation of elders, the past few years have led to a number of changes in PBC life. We believe it would be helpful to create a forum where you can ask questions about where we are, where we're going, how we'll get there, and why. We especially want to open the floor to those who have expressed questions or concerns about recent recommendations from the elders regarding things like church attendance and discipline. We want to hear from you and we want you to hear from us.
So join us on April 18 from 6-7:30 PM and bring your questions, comments, concerns, praises and prayer requests. We won't be voting on anything, and we won't have anything on our agenda other than to hear from you. You can show up with your questions or email us your thoughts in advance. Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.
